The Discovery was launched at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1989. Also bringing with it the new TDi engine which in its self has changed the way for Land Rover. The Discovery was Land Rovers introduction in to the up and coming market of people carriers, with the added advantage of rigid chassis, permanent 4 wheel drive and high ground clearance they sold well in the UK. Some of the early 2 door versions were prone to corrosion between the inner and outer shell but with the TDi engine these are great vehicles.
